Yale Center for British Art
I designed a number of projects for the museum, including the main web site, exhibition graphics and a special virtual exhibition grant project called ‘Pieces of Eden.’ The building was architect Louis Kahn’s last building and his proportional resonance permeated the spaces within it. I applied Kahn’s architectural ratios to a simple, modulated grid. The site stayed in place for 6 years (a lifetime in Web terms).

The ‘Pieces of Eden’ project was the result of a collaboration with YCBA technical director, David Lavorgnia. I met David at a Digital Media Center for the Arts (DMCA) grant meeting in 1999. He had a specific project and needed help, and I was exploring potential grant ideas. We immediately wrote a successful proposal, and got to work.
